Kansas City's storefronts

A city of street-level glass.

Kansas City has about 521,000 people (Census estimates via City Population) and some of the region's best-known shopping streets: the Country Club Plaza, opened in 1923 with Seville-inspired architecture and bought by HP Village Management in 2024 (Wikipedia), the Crossroads gallery district (Wikipedia), Westport (Wikipedia), the Power & Light District (Wikipedia) and the River Market, the city's oldest neighborhood (Wikipedia).

That glass takes a beating. The Downtown Community Improvement District removed 1,723 graffiti instances in 2024 alone (Downtown Council). Paint and marker come off walls. Tags scratched or acid-etched into glass don't; they have to be polished out (Wikipedia).

South of the Plaza, the Missouri side of the Country Club District, including Sunset Hill and the homes along Ward Parkway (Wikipedia, Wikipedia), has estate homes whose glass we restore the same way we do in Mission Hills.

FAQ

Kansas City questions

Can etched graffiti really be removed from glass?

Usually, yes. Acid etching and scratched tags damage the glass surface itself, so cleaning won't remove them, but polishing can. We do a test spot first so you can see the result.

Do you work with community improvement districts and property managers?

Yes. We can restore glass across multiple storefronts in a district and schedule work early in the morning or after hours.

Who's responsible for removing graffiti from my storefront?

In Kansas City, graffiti on private property is treated as a code violation that the owner is responsible for removing. Check with the city or 311 for current requirements.
