Acid etching removal in Kansas City.
Acid-etched tags and marks polished out of storefront glass across Kansas City, without replacing large storefront panes.
Graffiti that eats into the glass.
Some taggers use markers or gels with hydrofluoric acid. Instead of sitting on the glass like paint, the acid eats into the surface and leaves a frosted mark that no cleaner can remove. It can only be ground or polished out (Wikipedia).
For a storefront, that usually means one of two quotes: replace a large pane, or live with it. Restoration is the third option. We polish the etched area back to clear with the glass left in place.

Large storefront panes are slow and costly to replace.
Replacing a big storefront pane means boarding the opening, waiting on glass, and paying for a crew to reinstall it. Polishing out the etching keeps the shop open and the glass in its frame.

Acid etching removal in Kansas City: questions
Can all acid etching be removed?
Most etched graffiti can be polished out. Very deep etching takes longer, and in rare cases replacement makes more sense. We'll tell you after the test spot.
Will the polished area look different from the rest of the glass?
Done properly, no. We polish to match the surrounding glass and check it from the street before we leave.
How do I keep it from happening again?
Clear anti-graffiti window film takes the damage instead of the glass and can simply be replaced. We can advise on it after restoration.
